<p>The Institute of Public Enterprise is recognised by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) as a ‘Center of Excellence’. IPE’s PhD programme is recognised by nine Indian universities and is one of the largest in the social sciences field, covering a broad spectrum of areas including Management, Public Administration, Economics, Commerce, Education, Business Administration, Psychology, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Energy, Environment, Governance and Public Policy. IPE National Doctoral Fellowship has been instituted to provide opportunities to young scholars to pursue full-time research in Management or related disciplines. Under the aegis of ICSSR, the Institute offers three fellowships in social sciences, of which one is a pay-protection fellowship and two ordinary doctoral research fellowships. Till now more than 79 PhDs have been awarded since 1975.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This volume is organised in six sections: (i) Research on Organisations, (ii) Banking and Corporate Governance, (iii) Industrial Development and Finance, (iv) Marketing and Human Resource, (v) Government Policies, and (vi) Resource Management, in which selected research studies such as public sector enterprise, Indian stock market, trading and investment pattern in India, capital structure practices, resource management, impact assessment of privatisation, new financing instruments, small sector enterprise, consumer protection, risk management, corporate governance, knowledge management, higher and secondary education, assessment of government policies such as MGNERGS, corporate social responsibility, marketing, foreign direct investment, research pertaining to banking development, capital structure, liquidity in public sector etc., have been discussed to present the diversity, quality, and relevance of research work conducted at IPE.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The book will be helpful to young scholars, faculty social scientists and researchers to understand various dimensions of research along with methods adopted to complete the study.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Doctoral trend analysis of Institute of Public Enterprise shows the diversity and capability of researchers and supervisors to innovate new ideas/approaches in their respective domain. This entire book is organized into five sections, categorizing each section into specific themes to document the research work briefly which will be beneficial for the researchers/ academicians/professionals and policy makers belonging to that domain. First chapter elaborates the conceptual background of doctoral research along with few reviews, status of doctoral research in India and a brief insight into doctoral research at IPE. Remaining Doctoral thesis were categorized as per specialization such as Research studies on Organisations, Banking and Corporate Governance, Industrial Development and Finance, Government policies and Resource Management and Marketing and Human Resource, depicting various research work completed in that particular area. <p><strong>R.K. Mishra,</strong> Senior Professor, Director and ONGC Subir Raha Chair Professor at the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad, is a graduate of International Management Programme, SDA Bocconi, Milan, Italy. His current interests include: corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, modernisation of state, civil service systems, financial administration, environmental administration, privatisation, SOE reforms, restructuring, poverty management, and good governance.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Anupama Dubey</strong> is currently working at Institute of Public Enterprise as Assistant Professor. She is a post graduate from Allahabad University and holds M.Phil and PhD in the area of Water Conservation and Management from Delhi School of Economics,Delhi University. Her area of specialisation includes: Water Management and Governance, Corporate Governance, Resource Management, Sustainable Development, Research Methodology and Developmental Studies.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>V. Srikanth</strong> has 24 years of Research, Teaching, Training, Consultancy, and Industry Experience. He had been awarded PhD by Osmania University, Hyderabad for his Doctoral Thesis on Marketing Strategies of Software Export Industry. He is currently Coordinator (Research) in&nbsp; Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) looking after and coordinating the various Research and Consultancy activities of the Institute and also coordinating the Institute’s affairs vis-à-vis ICSSR and other Research Agencies. He is also the Head, School of Marketing in IPE.&nbsp;</p>
