With substantial innovation and consequent regulatory changes steering the global financial space, the Indian financial sector is also undergoing a sea of change. Keeping up with the changes and obtaining a snapshot of the sector is challenging, given the pace of transformation. In the five chapters of this report, the authors have provided a useful outline of the recent trends in the five most talked-about areas of the sector—the promising FinTech sector, the “frenzy” around retail participation in the equity derivatives segment, the corporate debt market and the regulatory discourse surrounding it, the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting, and the increasing importance of climate finance in the Indian context. The chapters offer an overview, assisting both academic and industry leaders in obtaining a snapshot of the developments in these areas over the last few years.
