Professor Srinivasan explores the broad links between growth in income, globalisation, and poverty reduction.</p>

He argues that past domestic and international policies have failed to serve the interests of the poorest countries, and suggests that the current array of international institution, in their unreformed state, are ill-suited to bring about the change required.</p>

<p>Finally he makes recommendations on needed reforms to the institutions that manage the global economic system.</p>

<p><strong>T.N. Srinivasan</strong> is Samuel C. Park, Jr. Professor of Economics at Yale University, USA. Formerly a Professor, and later Research Professor, at the Indian Statisti-cal Institute, Delhi (1964-1977), he has taught at numerous universities in the US.</p>
<p><br />
His research interests include theory of lobbying and rent-seeking; non-market contractual arrangements; multilateral trading system and developing countries; regionalism and multilateralism.</p>
<p><br />
His teaching areas are international trade, economic develpoment and economic theory.</p>
<p><br />
Professor Srinivasan has numerous books, published lectures and scholarly articles to his credit.</p>
