About the Author
K.S. James is Professor, Population Research Centre, Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore. He holds his doctoral degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was also a visiting fellow at the Harvard Centre for Population and Development, Harvard University in 2000, INED, Paris in 2007 and London School of Economics, UK in 2009. His current areas of interest are population and health in relation to socio-economic development. He is also a co-editor of the book Demographic Change, Health Inequality and Human Development in India (2004). He has published numerous research papers in the area of demography and health.
